GOYANG, South Korea - Adam Dixon and Brad Bowden had four points apiece to lead the Canadian men's sledge hockey team to a 5-0 win over Italy at the IPC world championship on Saturday.

Dixon, from Midland, Ont., scored twice and added two assists while Bowden, from Orton, Ont., added a goal and three assists in the tournament opener.

Captain Greg Westlake of Oakville, Ont., scored twice and Corbin Watson of Kingsville, Ont., stopped 10 shots for the shutout.

Italy goalie Santino Stillitano made 26 saves.

Canada will next face Russia (1-0) on Sunday.
