Police in Burlington say a missing 23-year-old jogger who disappeared after going out for a run on Wednesday night has been found "alive and well."
According to police, Christopher Komac was last seen by his family leaving his home in Burlington, in the area of Guelph Line and Prospect Street, at around 5:30 p.m.
"When he didn’t come home, his parents got worried and contacted us," Const. Dan Jaworski told reporters on Friday morning.
Police said Komac’s cellphone was found in a park near Brant and North Service Road on Thursday at around 7 a.m.
At around noon Friday, Halton Regional Police told reporters that Komac had been found and he does not appear to be injured.
He was located in a residential area near Forestvale and Sturbridge drives, police added.
The circumstances around his disappearance were not immediately clear.
The man’s family previously told police that the disappearance was "extremely out of character" for Komac.
Komac was found after police and approximately 200 volunteers launched an extensive search for him.
He is currently being assessed by paramedics and will be reunited with his family later today.
