A man in his 50s who was pulled out of an apartment fire on Thursday night has died of his injuries.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. inside the second-floor unit of a house on Broadview Avenue near O'Connor Drive and was reported by neighbours.

The victim was pulled out of the building not long after, along with two other people, who were unharmed. The flames were extinguished around 10 p.m.

Reports from the scene suggest the fine was confined to the bedroom where the man was found.

He was reportedly found without vital signs and taken to Toronto East General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
