Police in Peel region have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that left a 21-year-old man in critical condition.

The suspect, 22, has been charged with aggravated assault but the charges could be upgraded if the victim dies from his injuries.

Homicide investigators said Monday the 21-year-old victim is not expected to survive.

The shooting took place just before 9 p.m. Sunday inside a Brampton area home on Mordon Court. Police say the victim and another man got into an argument that led to the shooting.

Kevin Phillips, a Brampton resident, is facing charges in connection with the case. He was expected to make a court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
