A man accused of masterminding Toronto's largest bicycle-theft ring made a brief court appearance Monday morning.

The attorney general is using the civil remedies act to hold a forfeiture hearing in order to obtain Igor Kenk's property.

The Crown is alleging that Kenk's property are proceeds of a crime.

Kenk was able to postpone the case until Sept. 29 so that he can retain a lawyer.

The Toronto man is facing 58 charges related to drugs and theft and an additional three charges for assault. He has been in police custody since December.
