Three people have been arrested after a vehicle suspected to have been used in a robbery collided with a police cruiser in North York, injuring one officer Thursday night.

Toronto police said they were called to the area of Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West around 7 p.m.

Officers were in the area investigating a vehicle for robbery, and at some point, it hit a marked cruiser, police said.

The suspects fled on foot, but officers were able to track them all down and take them into custody.

Meanwhile, police said an officer in the cruiser that was hit sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

There is no word on the charges.
