As the summer comes to a close, there are lots of family-friendly attractions open on Labour Day Monday, but last-minute back-to school shoppers may be out of luck, as will those looking to stock up on food and drinks.

Here is a list of what is opened and closed in Toronto on Sept. 7.

Closures include:

  • Some grocery stores
  • Small malls and strip malls
  • Banks
  • LCBO and Beer stores
  • Libraries and schools
  • Government office
  • Childcare centres

In response to the warm weekend, the city also extended outdoor pool season. The pools were scheduled to close Sept. 6, but 10 will remain open until 5 p.m. on Monday because of the heat.

There is no mail delivery on Labour Day.

The following businesses will stay open:

  • Some grocery stores, including some Metro andLoblaws locations
  • Some malls, including the Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills and Square One, Markville Mall, Upper Canada, Hillcrest Mall
  • Long-term care homes
  • Tourist attractions across the city including historical sites
  • Golf courses
  • Parks
  • Movie theatres
  • Most restaurants
  • Most tourist attractions, including Toronto Zoo, Ripley’s Aquarium and Canada’s Wonderland

The TTC is running on a holiday schedule and GO Transit is operating on a Saturday schedule.
