Toronto Police say a TTC operator is facing multiple charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl he met on social media.

Allan Hrynkiw, who often goes by the name of “Bus Driver Al,” was arrested on Thursday and has been charged with three counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference, and three counts of luring a child.

Police say the 39-year-old first started talking to the alleged teen victim online in November. He then met the girl on a streetcar he was operating in July, police say.

Hrynkiw has been suspended from his duties pending the outcome of the case against him, the TTC said in a statement.

“The TTC has a long and proud history of community and public safety with its 14,000 employees deeply committed to the well-being of all who rely on us,” the statement said. “Given this very serious issue is no before the courts, the TTC will offer no further comment.”

Police say there may be other victims in the case.
