Another long weekend is upon us thanks to Easter.

And Passover began Monday night with the Seder, the meal that marks the beginning of the week-long commemoration of the Jewish liberation from Egyptian slavery more than 3,000 years ago.

TIFF Kids Film Festival

The TIFF Kids Film Festival presents diverse programming designed to teach children and youth about different cultures and perspectives from around the world. The festival will feature filmmakers and other special guests.

Harbourfront Centre Spring Fling Festival

Celebrate the arrival of spring with three days of family-friendly music, dance and hands-on activities. There will be pet-themed fun at PawsWay, family films screened at Queen’s Quay Terminal and free meals for kids (with the purchase of an adult meal) at the Watermark Restaurant.

Easter at the Toronto Zoo

The Conservation Connect Centre will feature crafts, colouring, “egg-ducational activities” and giant panda mascots to celebrate Easter this weekend. Plus, colourful eggs will be hidden in various animal exhibits throughout the Zoo.

Location: The Toronto Zoo, 2000 Meadowvale Rd.

Cost: $23 for general admission (ages 13-64), $14 for children aged 3-12, $18 for seniors, free for children aged two and younger

Francis Bacon and Henry Moore at the Art Gallery of Ontario

This exhibition highlighting the work of 20th century artists Francis Bacon and Henry Moore recently opened at the AGO. Their artwork is known for exploring human suffering in the body through paintings and sculptures.

Dates: Friday, April 18 - Sunday, April 20 (AGO is closed Easter Monday)

Pimenton's Supper Club

Savour a special dinner featuring dishes from the Iberian Peninsula. Tapas, salads, paellas, and cheeses will highlight the unique flavours found in Spanish cuisine.

Easter Sweets Tour

Spend Easter Sunday enjoying tasty treats around Toronto. The guided tour features five sweet stores and samples from each location, plus an explanation of the history of sweets.

Date: Sunday, April 20 (Tours: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., 2 p.m.-4 p.m.)

Location: Departs from Ding Dong Pastries, 321 Spadina Ave.

Toronto Beaches Easter Parade

The Toronto Beaches Lions Club is holding its 48th annual Easter parade. Bring the family to see floats, marching bands and the Easter Bunny riding a classic car. Parade is approximately two hours long.
