A female student at the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus was sexually assaulted when a man broke into her residence through an unlocked window early Tuesday morning, police said.

The man broke in at approximately 4 a.m., Peel region police said in a statement, at which point the 19-year-old female student was assaulted. The man fled the residence.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, approximately 5’5” tall, wearing a hoodie, and a knit hat.

Peel Region Police are warning members of the public to lock all doors and windows before going to bed, and when leaving their homes.
