  • A strike deadline of November 3 has been set for drivers employed by First Student Markham. The union president remains optimistic that a tentative contract can be reached, averting a strike that would affect thousands of students at TDSB and TCDSB.
  • Zoocheck Canada and Animal Alliance Canada have hired top bureaucrat Mike Zimmerman to investigate the Ontario SPCA in aim to better protect animals in the province.
  • Several community leaders are expected to speak at Nathan Phillips Square this morning in support of a possible Expo 2025 bid for Toronto ahead of an Executive Committee meeting tomorrow.

TRAFFIC WOES:

  • The northbound and southbound right lanes of Allen Road will be occupied from 9:00AM-3:00PM this week due to grass cutting maintenance.
  • Westbound and eastbound lanes remain blocked on Danforth Avenue between Pape Avenue and Donlands Avenue from 7:00AM-7:00PM due to road work.
