Toronto police released security camera images of three suspects Thursday wanted in connection with a violent home invasion in North York last month.

On Tuesday, March 4, a 34-year-old Toronto man received a phone call from someone who he believed to be a car dealership employee. The recipient was informed that he had won a prize package that would be delivered to his home on Futura Drive.

Later that day, a man wearing mechanic's overalls bearing a car dealership logo arrived at his door. The victim was punched in the face as soon as he opened the door.

Two men wearing disguises joined the suspect as the homeowner tried to close the door. The three suspects forced their way in and subdued the victim.

The resident was bound with plastic zip ties and had his eyes and mouth covered with duct tape. The victim was kicked and struck repeatedly in the head and body with a baton.

According to CP24, the three men ransacked the North York home, taking a number of items, including cash and clothes before fleeing in an unknown direction.

The victim managed to get out of the home to scream for help. He was treated in hospital for trauma to his head and bruising to his body, wrists and ankles.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying three men. They are described as:

  • Male, brown, believed to be in his 20s, 5'7"-5'8"
  • Male, unknown complexion, thin build, wearing a hoodie and a disguise
  • Male, unknown complexion, wearing a black hoodie and grey disguise, possibly a scarf

Police are warning the public to be cautious when dealing with business representatives sent to their homes.
