Police are warning the public to avoid part of Scarborough as they hunt for a suspect or suspects in a double-shooting.

Police say they were called to the scene at Cataraqui Crescent, in the Warden Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East area, at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say two men in their 20s were taken by paramedics to a trauma centre. Both are expected to survive. One had wounds in the arm and leg; the other was shot in the buttocks.

In a tweet, police said the public should “use caution in (the) area.”

The K-9 unit has been deployed to help search for the shooter or shooters.

Earlier on Saturday, two men were shot and killed by a security guard following an altercation at an east-end McDonald’s near Coxwell Avenue and Danforth Avenue. No arrests have been made. Police have interviewed the guard and reviewed security camera footage.
