The Toronto Transit Commission's Scarborough Rapid Transit line is expected to resume service on Wednesday, after a train became stuck between stations a day earlier.
Forty-three commuters were forced off the train at approximately 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Toronto Fire Capt. David Eckerman said. No injuries have been reported.
The power on Line 3 was shut down, and shuttle buses were deployed to transport commuters between the McCowan and Kennedy SRT stations.
A TTC spokesperson told CTV Toronto Tuesday evening that a test train was expected to depart from Kennedy SRT Station at approximately 7 p.m. It was later rescheduled for approximately 9 p.m. The TTC said it was unclear if the problem is at track-level or if the issue is a faulty train.
The spokesperson said SRT service will most likely start running Wednesday morning.
Earlier on Tuesday, subway trains were forced to bypass Bathurst Station on the Bloor-Danforth line due to flooding.
Shuttle buses were called in to supplement service between Spadina and Christie Stations. The station was closed for several hours, but reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
St. Patrick Station was also temporarily closed when a water line broke on the mezzanine level. Full service has resumed.
