The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 have been reopened at Highway 427 after being closed for hours due to a crash and fuel spill.
The left express lane was blocked at Dixie Road and traffic was diverted onto Eglinton Avenue from 5 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
The two right lanes were closed for three hours, and reopened shortly after 8 a.m.
Drivers were advised to use alternate routes as crews clean up the spill.
The accident happened at approximately 5 a.m., when a transport truck collided with another vehicle, causing the truck to spill a significant amount of fuel.
No injuries were reported.
The Ministry of the Environment was called to the scene to assess the spill.
