A man convicted of assaulting a police officer during Toronto’s G20 summit was sentenced to 10 months in prison on Friday.

George Horton, 24, was convicted of intimidating a justice system participant during the G20 riots in downtown Toronto.

Horton received a sentence of 10 months less eight days for time served. He was also sentenced to two years of probation.

The G20 summit took place in downtown Toronto on June 26 and 27, 2010. Six Toronto police cruisers were either destroyed or severely damaged during riots that broke out on June 26.
