Toronto police believe there may be more victims in a human trafficking investigation in which they allege a teenage girl was forced into the sex trade.

Police began the probe last October when investigators determined a 16-year-old girl had been recruited to become a sex trade worker.

Police say that for more than a month the girl was taken by a man to numerous hotels in the Greater Toronto Area.

It's alleged she had been coerced into the sex trade through threats against her and her family.

Police say the girl was sexually and physically abused and forced to lie about her age.

Michael Hazel, 22, faces 16 charges, including trafficking in persons under 18, forcible confinement, sexual assault and distributing child pornography.
