One man is dead and a second man is in hospital after a shooting outside a west-end Toronto restaurant.
Paramedics were called to the area of Highway 427 and Dixon Road at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
When they arrived, they found two shooting victims in the parking lot at the Lone Star Texas Grill, at 930 Dixon Rd.
One man was pronounced dead on scene, while the other was rushed to a nearby trauma centre. Neither victim has been publicly identified.
A white Range Rover SUV with bullet holes in the passenger's side doors was also at the scene.
Police told reporters on scene that it is believed that the victims were leaving the parking lot in the SUV when they were ambushed by a shooter or shooters. The driver slumped forward over the wheel, and the vehicle continued to roll until it collided with a sign and came to a stop.
Officers have yet to provide a description of the suspect or suspects, but said the investigation is ongoing.
