A portion of Highway 401 that was closed due to a tractor-trailer fire has reopened after a closure that lasted nearly seven hours.
Three eastbound lanes were closed between Harmony and Courtice Roads after a tractor-trailer caught fire around midnight.
The left and centre lanes reopened around 7 a.m., but the right lane of the highway remained closed until 9 a.m. as crews tried to clean up debris and remove the damaged truck.
Ontario Provincial police have reopened the roadway, but warn that the right shoulder is expected to be closed for the rest of the day.
No one was seriously injured in the incident.
