Toronto police said officers were on the scene near Sheppard Avenue and Jane Street after reports of gunshots fired on Monday.
Police said people in the area around Sheppard Avenue between Yatescastle Drive and Buckland Road heard 10 shots.
No injuries were reported, but police said on Twitter that shell casings were found at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
