Firefighters came to the rescue of a teen and her cat after the pair got stuck in a tree in Brampton.

Crews were called to a tree on Ashwood Crescent, in the area of Bramalea Road and Steeles Avenue, at approximately 1 a.m. on Friday.

They were told the teenage girl climbed up the tree to retrieve her pet, but was unable to get back to the ground.

"I decided to climb up the tree to save my poor kitty and I got stuck," she said.

"I was scared at first because I thought I was going to fall off the tree."

Firefighters used a ladder to help the girl down. The cat then climbed down from the tree.

Neither was injured in the incident.
