Toronto will be locked in a deep freeze for the weekend, with a low on Saturday dipping to – 17 degrees Celsius Saturday night, according to Environment Canada.

Under cloudy skies, daytime highs for Saturday and Sunday will be -9 C, which is about seven degrees lower than the seasonal average.

Some snow will greet morning commuters on Friday, with up to four centimeters expected in the Toronto region.

However, in parts of the U.S. Midwest, heavy snow snarled traffic caused problems in Ohio and elsewhere.

In fact, some communities in Ohio were under a heavy storm warning as snow blanketed the state.
