The Civic Holiday, also known as Simcoe Day in Toronto, means many businesses and offices will be closed.

Here's a list of what's open and what's closed for the holiday:

  • Government offices
  • Banks
  • Childcare centres
  • Libraries
  • Post offices and mail delivery
  • Beer Store locations
  • Some LCBO locations

The following businesses will stay open:

  • Some grocery stores, including some Metro and Loblaws locations
  • Some malls, including the Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills, the Scarborough Town Centre, Markvlle Mall, Hillcrest Mall and Square One
  • GO Transit (operating on Saturday schedule)
  • TTC (operating on holiday service schedule)
  • Long-term care homes
  • Tourist attractions across the city, including historical sites
  • Golf courses
