A three-year-old boy is dead after falling from a high-rise apartment window in the city’s west end.
Toronto paramedics were called to an address on Hickory Tree Road in the Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue area around 2 p.m. Sunday.
Paramedics performed CPR on the child but he later died in hospital.
According to Toronto Police, the toddler fell from the 17th floor window of the apartment building.
“We heard a lady scream and then we saw a bunch of kids running to the building,” said Jamal Mohamoud, a neighbour of the young boy. “We were all shocked.”
Neighbours and friends say the three-year-old’s name is Wallace Passos.
“He is a wonderful boy, energetic and just a wonderful kid,” says Anna Da Silva, a family friend.
Neighbours say the family has lived in the apartment building for years.
Toronto police are still investigating what led to the boy's fall.
