Police have identified a man who was found dead in the shallow waters of Lake Ontario on Monday as Murray Abbot.

The 36-year-old man was last seen in the evening of April 25 in the Queen Street East and Leuty Avenue area.

The family of Abbot announced last week that they would be offering a $50,000 reward for anyone that helps to locate the missing man.

Police were called to a water plant in the east-end of Toronto early Monday morning after the body was spotted.

Murray’s body was found near the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant, located in the area of Fallingbrook Road and Queen Street East. Const. Caroline DeKloet told CTV Toronto that police received a call about the body shortly before 6:40 a.m.

Toronto paramedics say Abbot was pronounced dead at the scene.
