A body discovered in a Sarnia woodlot Wednesday morning is that of a missing 27-year-old woman, Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed.

Police say the body of Noelle Paquette, of Courtright, was discovered on Mandaumin Road, between Petrolia and Rokeby lines, at around 10:30 a.m.

Paquette was last seen in the Lochiel and Cristina streets area in downtown Sarnia after leaving a party located nearby on New Year’s Eve.

Police are treating the death as suspicious.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place in London in the coming days.

Mandaumin Road remains closed as police continue to investigate at the scene.
