Alcohol suspected in crash on DVP ramp, police say

Alcohol may have been a factor in an early-morning crash that sent one person to hospital Friday, Toronto police say.

A car crashed into a guardrail around 4:40 a.m., shutting down the ramp connecting the Don Valley Parkway and Bayview/Bloor until about 8 a.m.

The driver was taken to Sunnybrook hospital with serious injuries, a Toronto EMS spokesperson told CP24.

Traffic services Const. Clint Stibbe said the driver was arrested for an alcohol-related offence.
