A 90-year-old World War Two veteran took a stroll 356 metres above the ground on Friday, proving that thrill seeking isn't just for the young.

After watching people on television take guided tours of the CN Tower's EdgeWalk attraction, Bill Ward said he had to try the trek himself.

"I was sort of attracted to it the first time I saw it," Ward told CTV Toronto.

Ward was joined by his daughter Linda Boshan, who admitted she wasn't too keen on the idea at first, as they hung from the tower's rail that circles the CN Tower's 150-metre circumference.

Moments before stepping out onto the narrow ledge, Ward, who spent time as a signal operator in Holland, Belgium and Germay, said he wasn't afraid.

"OK Bill, come out," one of the trained guides said, beckoning the 90-year-old, who has two hearing aids and a bum knee, to step out.

Ward was also joined by other and significantly younger daredevils who all leaned out 116-storeys with him above the city.

"I feel like I'm 60," Ward said after the tour.

"I would do it again any day. I would do it again today if I went up there."

And he might not have to wait long.

Ward said he has already bought tickets for his other children and he might join them to show them how it's done.
