Toronto Transit Commission discussed a potential fare increase and earlier subway start times on Sundays at Monday’s budget meeting.
The TTC needs to make up $53 million to balance the books for next year. The board is considering a fare hike as a way to make up the revenue.
Several options were considered at Monday’s meeting, including hiking only the cash fare and freezing the cost of Metropasses, or increasing all fares.
But, TTC budget commitee has recommended keeping the price of a Metropass at $141.50.
The cash fare could go up by as much as 25 cents per ride, bringing the fare up to a total of $3.25.
