Regular service has resumed after a fallen tree branch caused major delays on several streetcar routes in Toronto's west end.
City of Toronto forestry crews were called to the Roncesvalles Avenue and The Queensway area at approximately 5 a.m. to deal with the branch.
Officials have not said what caused the branch to fall, but it brought down hydro and streetcar wires.
A Hydro One spokesperson said that the branch had to be removed before the wires could be restored.
There was no power in the area, and service was not expected to be restored until shortly before 8 a.m.
The 501 Queen, 504 King, 505 Dundas and 506 Carlton streetcars were diverting as a result, but have since returned to regular service.
