The Toronto Transit Commission is increasing its security presence in response to Friday's attacks in Paris.
The TTC said riders will notice an increase in uniformed security guards on subway stations and in vehicles across the city.
"There are no specific threats to Canada or Toronto, or to transportation," TTC spokesperson Brad Ross told CTV Toronto's Natalie Johnson on Monday.
"But following attacks like that, we want to make sure that the public knows that we take their safety and security seriously."
Ross said the TTC is asking employees and riders to "be vigilant" while taking transit in Toronto.
Fare inspectors and TTC supervisors have been redeployed to aid special constables in monitoring the major transit system.
In addition to the increased presence, TTC speaker systems will be playing warnings to riders, asking them to report anything suspicious to officials or employees.
