A Toronto man was due in court Thursday after being charged in the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old.

Police found Khalfani "Jordan" Haughton in the hallway on the third floor of an apartment building at 1130 Wilson Ave. Wednesday afternoon.

Police allege the teen was stabbed in the chest after an altercation with a 37-year-old male.

Haughton's father told CTV Toronto his son was at the building to pick up his younger brother from a babysitter.

"Jordan went to look for this woman friend who apparently was babysitting his younger brother. Then the woman's boyfriend came and they had an altercation," Fitzgerald Haughton said.

The victim was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Derrick Oram has been charged with second-degree murder.
