Police are searching for a suspect after an elderly man was fatally shot in Toronto's west end.
The incident occurred in the basement of a home, in the area of Caledonia Road and Playfair Avenue, at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Few details have been reported, but paramedics told CTV Toronto that a man has died as a result of his injuries. The man has not been identified, but paramedics said he is believed to be in his 80s.
"It was pretty shocking. You don't want to hear about these things happening in your own neighbourhood," a witness told reporters on scene.
Police said they're searching for a man who may be armed with a rifle.
