Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Hamilton bouncer who was shot to death outside a nightclub in May.
Police say 46-year-old Vincenzo Lofaro was gunned down outside Club 77, a popular nightclub located at 77 King William St. in Hamilton, at around 3 a.m. on May 13.
The victim, investigators say, was working at the club as a bouncer when he was fatally shot.
According to police, about an hour before gunshots rang out, there had been a fight inside the club and a group of males was thrown out by bar staff.
Police said they believe the males returned to the bar that night and killed Lofaro.
The victim’s friend, who had just arrived at the club to pick Lofaro up after his shift, was also injured in the shooting.
Police added that the victim and his friend had nothing to do with the dispute that had taken place inside the bar earlier that night.
“It is the belief of investigators that these same males returned and murdered Lofaro as a symbolic act of revenge against the club,” Hamilton police said in a news release issued Thursday.
After reviewing an “extensive” amount of video taken from the club and surrounding area that night, three accused were identified, police said.
On Wednesday, the men were arrested in connection with the case.
Rebaz Resh, 25, Waed Alabd Alnabi, 25 and Ammar Nabulsi, 26, have been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
Police have released an image of another male who they say they would like to speak to about the deadly shooting.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Det. Matt Reid at 905-546-4123.
