PICKERING, Ont. -- Durham regional police say the death of a woman whose body was found after a house fire has been deemed suspicious and they are awaiting results from an autopsy.
They say officers and fire crews responded to a garage fire in Pickering, east of Toronto, at about 8 p.m. Monday.
After the fire was extinguished, the body of a woman was discovered in the garage.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday and investigators were meeting with pathologists to determine the cause of death and identify the victim.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is also assisting the investigation.
