Police are investigating two separate hit-and-runs in Scarborough that left one teenager dead and another pedestrian with minor injuries.
The first incident happened in the Finch Avenue East and Neilson Road area at approximately 5:40 p.m. The 14-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police previously said she was 20.
The area remains closed off to vehicular traffic as police investigate the collision.
The second incident happened nearby, in the Midland Avenue and Finch Avenue East area. Police say a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
Toronto EMS says he suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
In both crashes, police say the driver failed to remain at the scene.
