The victims of a double homicide in Richmond Hill have been identified as two teenagers.
York Regional Police identified one of the victims Thursday as Premier Hoang, an 18-year-old man from Brampton.
In a news release, police also identified the other victim as a 16-year-old girl and said she is related to a surviving victim, a 20-year-old Brampton man.
Police said they are not identifying the girl in order to protect the identity of the surviving man.
The three were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle in a parking lot in Richmond Hill early Wednesday.
Police were called to the area of Centre Street East and Yonge Street in Richmond Hill shortly after midnight Wednesday after reports of gunshots.
The girl was declared dead at the scene. Hoang and the other man were transported to hospital, where Hoang succumbed to his injuries.
The second man remains in hospital in critical condition.
Police have described the shootings as targeted and say they believe at least two male suspects remain at large.
Post-mortem exams are being conducted on the bodies today to determine the exact cause of death.
