TORONTO - Three months of talks with a conciliator have so far failed to produce a new contract for full-time faculty at Ontario's public colleges.

Rachael Donovan, head of the colleges' bargaining team, says the lack of progress is very frustrating for students and faculty.

She says both groups need certainty and "should not be burdened with the threat of a labour disruption."

Wages and workload are key issues in the talks, which have seen the two sides meet 25 times since early June. Both sides meet again next Tuesday.

The colleges say OPSEU's latest proposal would boost the top salary for full-time faculty by 14 per cent to $109,915 by next September.

The colleges four-year offer would include annual raises to bring the maximum salary to $103,464 by September 2012.
