Toronto police have released a new sketch of a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Scarborough that dates back to 1995.

In three separate incidents, police say the man had a mini-van with tinted windows.

In the first incident, police say the man attempted to grab a woman and pull her into his vehicle near the Milliken Wells Plaza, located at 240 Alton Towers Circle on Nov. 27, 1995. The woman managed to escape.

In the second incident, the man returned to the same location on Feb. 20, 1996. Police say he approached another woman and told her he was having mechanical issues with his vehicle. The woman exited her own vehicle to help the man, and was forced into the van and sexually assaulted before being released.

In the third incident on March 4, 1996, police say the man approached another woman at a shopping centre, Woodside Square, located in the area of McCowan Road and Finch Avenue East. The man again pretended to have mechanical problems with his van before forcing the woman into the vehicle through the passenger-side sliding door. The woman was sexually assaulted inside the vehicle before she was released.

Detective Ali Ansari, with the Toronto sex crimes unit, says it can sometimes take only one call or tip from someone who knows something about these sexual assaults to find the suspect.

“Maybe he had bragged about these events to friends or family members,” Ansari told CTV News Tuesday.

At the time of the incidents, the man was described as brown and between 18- and 20-years-old. Police say he had a thin build, a long, clean-shaven face with smooth skin, and slightly curly, short black hair. The man would be in his mid-to-late 30s today.

Police say the two-tone light-brown mini-van was an older model vehicle -- possibly a 1990 to 1996 Chrysler -- with a grey or beige interior.
