York police are investigating a possible attempted murder-suicide after a man was found dead and a woman critically injured in Georgina Thursday.
Investigators said a post-mortem exam of the man found he died form multiple self-inflicted stab wounds.
Police said they went to a home after a 911 call was made by someone inside the residence connected to the family.
They arrived and found a man with no vital signs and a woman with life-threatening injuries. Two children, ages 12 and six, were also at the home, police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was transported to hospital where she remained in critical condition Friday with severe head wounds.
Police are withholding the dead man's name, and continue to investigate the incident.
