Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after two bodies were found at a Scarborough apartment complex.

Police were called to the scene around 11 a.m. on Tuesday to investigate a reported disturbance.

When investigator arrived, they found one man dead from apparent stab wounds inside an apartment located at Tuxedo Court in the Markham and Ellesmere Roads area. 

A second body was found outside the complex.

It's believed the man jumped to his death from a window on the 14th floor of the building.

Family members at the scene told CTV News that the man who jumped was 20 years old and had been depressed over a recent split from his girlfriend.

Police identified the man as Srigajananth Srinivasan, who was known as Gudja in the neighbourhood.

It is not known how he knew the individual found inside the apartment.

Police have not released further details but say they are not searching for suspects.
