A 44-year-old Toronto man faces charges after reports that he was showing child pornography to children in the food court area of the Eaton Centre.

Earl Joseph Robert Maillet will appear in court Thursday after being charged with possession of child pornography and making available child pornography.

Police received complaints on Saturday that a man was allegedly sitting at a table with a laptop showing children images of child pornography near the McDonald's.

The children being forced to look at the disturbing images are all under the age of 10.

Investigators say the images were also easily visible to the general public.

A search warrant was executed on Maillet's home and the investigation is ongoing.

Police say Maillet is a general contractor who has access to children of various ages.

The suspect has had no previous involvement with detectives at the Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has had contact with Maillet is asked to contact police at 416-808-7361, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416−222−TIPS (8477), or online at www.222tips.com.
