A video of Toronto Mayor John Tory listening to a Kanye West song has been blocked by Twitter due to a copyright complaint.
"This Tweet from @JohnTory has been withheld in response to a report from the copyright holder," a message on the site says.
A statement from the mayor's office said they were aware of the issue and were looking into it, but that the video was meant as a parody and "was made in that fun spirit."
Tory posted the video on the social media site Thursday, poking fun at himself after admitting all he knew about the U.S. rapper was his spouse.
After learning that West would perform at the Pan Am Games closing ceremony on Wednesday, Tory let slip that he believed West was a Canadian artist, calling him a "proud product of our music industry."
He was quickly corrected by reporters, and said he wished he'd known that West wasn't Canadian, but "you can't know everything."
"I'm a 61-year-old grandfather. What am I going to know about Kanye West, except that I know from watching TV who he's married to?" Tory said on CTV's Canada AM on Friday morning.
To make up for the flub, Tory posted a video to Twitter on Thursday, writing, "Yeezus, can't believe I didn't know Kim Kardashian's husband wasn't Canadian!"
Set to West's "Stronger," a baseball-cap-clad Tory puts on sunglasses and earbuds, and enters St. George Subway Station. Seated on the train, the mayor is seen flipping through a magazine featuring West's wife.
"I thought it would be fun," Tory said of the video.
"You've got to poke fun at yourself when you make a mistake… When you make a mistake, laugh and move on."
The video was pulled less than 24 hours after it was posted, but not before being seen by the mayor's 63,500 followers. Several users praised the mayor for making fun of himself.
"That's the way you handle a gaffe. Well done," one user wrote.
@CTVToronto @JohnTory Yes, that's the way you handle a gaffe. Well done.

On Facebook, one person wrote that she's starting to like Tory more and more. "He is seeming more relaxed in his public role, more personable!"

Before he made the video, Tory told reporters he'd wished Pan Am Games organizers had chosen a Canadian act to headline the closing ceremony.
At least six online petitions have been signed by more than 35,000 people calling on organizers to reconsider the headliner.
Still, Tory said he's proud of how the Games have gone so far.
"I was proud of the city before, but we've now stepped up and I think we're having a great party here," he said.
"People are having a good time. People are seeing our city. They're surprised at the size of it, they're surprised at how modern and dynamic it is… You don't want to hex it, but so far so good."
