She's only 12-years-old, but Richmond Hill's Hannah Alper has been named the first Canadian youth ambassador for a global anti-bullying campaign supported by a number of Hollywood celebrities.
Called the Bystander Revolution, the campaign offers tips on how individuals can help resolve situations where an individual is being bullied.
"Bystander Revolution was founded by author and parent Mackenzie Bezos to create a source of direct, peer-to-peer advice about practical things individuals can do to help defuse bullying," the campaign's site says.
Alper joins a number of A-list celebrities, such as Salma Hayek and Kevin Spacey, who have already lent their voice to the cause.
This is not the first time Alper is making waves as a young activist. When she was just nine-years-old, Alper created the popular blog Call Me Hannah, which was inspired by her love of animals.
"It started with the environment, child labour, education," she told CTV Toronto on Wednesday.
Since then, the blogger has touched many lives. She has more than 20,000 Twitter followers, and has even shared the stage with actress Lily Collins at the 2015 We Day in Seattle, where she co-hosted the event that celebrates youth activism.
"What motivates me is helping like any other kid," Alper said. "I love helping and I think I just take it one step further."
