TORONTO - Ontario Lottery and Gaming says while the $50 million Lotto Max jackpot wasn't won in Friday's draw, several tickets sold in Ontario did win major prizes.
OLG says five tickets worth $1 million each were sold in Chatham, Toronto, Orillia, Wasaga Beach, and the Owen Sound area.
Another four Maxmillions tickets, each worth $500,000, were also sold in Ontario and shared with tickets sold elsewhere in Canada -- two were sold in Toronto, with others sold in Newmarket and Hamilton.
Two other Maxmillions tickets, worth $250,000 each, were sold in Toronto and Hamilton, with the prizes shared with tickets sold elsewhere in Canada.
OLG says since its launch in September 2009, Lotto Max players in Ontario have won more than $2 billion in prizes, including 40 jackpot wins and 220 winning Maxmillions tickets.
Next week's Lotto Max jackpot will be an estimated $50 million plus 50 Maxmillions prizes worth $1 million each.
