Toronto paramedics say five people were taken to hospital this morning after a car rear-ended a TTC bus in Malvern.

It happened near the intersection of Sewells Road and Morningside Avenue at around 2 a.m.

Toronto Paramedic Services says four people were taken to a trauma centre and one person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Two people suffered life-threatening injuries and two others suffered serious injuries.

Limited information is available on those who were injured but paramedics say at least one was male, one was in their late 20s and another was a teenager.

All victims transported to hospital were occupants of the car, police told CP24 Monday morning.

The area has been closed to traffic as police investigate.
