A 27-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly failed to tell multiple sexual partners that he was HIV positive.
Police say the suspect was diagnosed with the disease in February of 2011.
Five months later, investigators say the suspect started an intimate relationship with a 24-year-old man he met through online classified personal ads and did not disclose that he was HIV positive.
Police charged the suspect in the case with aggravated sexual assault on April 10, 2017.
In a news release issued Tuesday, police allege the same man met a 21-year-old man in December of 2016 through an online dating website.
The two began an intimate relationship and police say the suspect did not tell his partner about his HIV status.
The 21-year-old was subsequently diagnosed with the virus.
The suspect identified as Toronto-resident Ala Al Safi was charged with an additional count of aggravated sexual assault on June 19.
Police are concerned there may be more victims and urge anyone with new information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
