A Toronto teacher faces four sexual assault-related charges in connection with a student under his supervision.

Toronto Police said Thursday that the incidents are alleged to have occurred between April and May of this year.

They allege the student was assaulted in two separate incidents at his school.

"The accused has been a teacher for the last seven years at Don Mills Middle School," police said.

Chi Cuong Hang, 38, of Toronto has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two more of sexual interference.

He appeared in court Thursday morning. He avoided speaking with the media, trying to cover his face.

One parent said she hopes the allegations will be proven false. She described Hang as a wonderful man.

Police say they believe there may be more victims. They ask anyone with information to call them at 416-808-3305, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and a message to CRIMES (274637).

Meanwhile, Stewart Adams, a 46-year-old Toronto teacher, is to make a court appearance Thursday on four child-pornography-related charges.

The Kingsview Village Junior Middle School teacher has been placed on home assignment as his case works its way through the courts.

He will be back before the court next Tuesday for a bail hearing.

No allegations against either Adams or Hang have been proven in a court of law.
