Toronto police have released security surveillance images of a man wanted in connection with an attempted daytime robbery on a TTC subway train earlier this week.

The attempted theft happened on a train heading to Bloor Station at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

According to police, a man was disturbing people on the train. He was asked by a 28-year-old man to stop. The suspect then attempted to rob the man and a struggle ensued.

"The man then produced a knife and demanded his personal property," police said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

Police said the man exited the subway on a northbound platform without stealing any of the victim's belongings.

He is described as being 6'1" tall, between 20- and 30-years-old, and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with a white logo of a hand in the shape of a gun, a black baseball hat with a gold-coloured WU-TANG logo, and black basketball shoes.

Police say he also has blonde hair, blond stubble on his face, and was carrying one black and one grey backpack at the time of the incident.
