One man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in Rexdale Tuesday evening.
It happened in a parking lot in the Rexdale Boulevard and Bergamot Avenue area shortly before 8 p.m.
A witness said that multiple shots were fired after a fight broke out between at least two men.
“They were holding back one of (the men fighting),” a man, identified only as Brandon, told CP24 at the scene.
“But then the other guy pulls out a gun and he shots him.”
He said he was at a nearby baseball diamond and came over to investigate after hearing shouting.
The lone victim, believed to be in 30s, sustained life-threatening injuries, paramedics said.
In a tweet sent out shortly after 11 p.m., police said they were looking for a newer-model, silver or grey two-door Cadillac SUV in connection with the shooting.
The area is currently closed as the investigation continues.
